Titusville - Wabasso Bridge

We Left Titusville and anchored out on the south side of Wabasso Bridge. We stopped there to go to the Enviromental Learning Center. We had read that they had a great program for kids. It was too late to go there by the time we arrived so we decided to go early the next morning. We explored the mangroves in the dinghy for a little while before dinner. Dad liked the way many of the houses looked with the trimmed mangroves in front. We saw lots of Blue Herons and Egrets hiding in the mangroves.

Wabasso Bridge - Vero Beach

We visited the Eniromantal Learning Center as soon as they opened. We rented backpacks that had an activity book, binoculars, specimen jars, and a net in each one. They were so awesome. The activity book was really fun to do and we got to catch fish from the pond with the nets. We hiked through the whole ELC then headed back to Flying Fish in time to get to Vero Beach before dark.

The water in the mangroves had an algae growing in it that gave the water a crazy color!

Vero Beach

Vero Beach was so busy with boats that we had to "raft up". That means two boats can tie up on either side to the boat that is attached to the mooring. We gave our new neighbors some freshly baked cookies mom made. Our generator was having some problems so dad had someone come over to our boat and work on it. He said that the capacitor was the problem and ordered a new one. We were stuck in Vero Beach until the part came. Later we went to the beach with our friends from the boats Mariposa and Irish Rose. They were there before us and were swimming. Right as we got to the beach we heard the lifegaurd blow the air horn and make everyone get out of the water. There was a shark. Because of that we were not able to swim but had a great time hanging out on the beach and wading in the ocean. Later that evening we had a potluck with them in the marina.

Vero Beach

We went shopping all day for food and supplies. Later we went to a Christmas boat parade. We took our dinner in the dinghy and went out to the Intercoastal to see it. It was awesome. We did not know that it was coming into the marina, but it went right by our boat after we got back. We got to see it twice! In between the two times we saw the parade we did some boat caroling. After getting into the christmas spirit we did some serious decorating.

Vero Beach

We went to the beach. It was quite hot out, so the water felt quite nice. There was a hole in the sand right by the surf and I could not see it, and I fell into it and rolled my ankle badly. It has been hurting since then.

Sign that we found quite funny

Vero Beach

The guy trying to fix our generator put in the new capacitor and it still did not work, so dad went and bought a portable Honda generator. I am actually glad that we got the new Honda because it is much quieter than our old one.

Beautiful sunrise

Vero Beach - Jensen Beach

We left Vero Beach and anchored at Jensen Beach for the night next to the bridge. We did not go ashore at all.

You can't see it in this photo, but the water had just suddenly turned a beautiful blue, unfortunately, it changed back to brown a few minutes later.

Doggies!!!

Jensen Beach - West Palm Beach

We left Jensen Beach early in the morning and headed to West Palm Beach. We were exited to see the light show on the 600 ton sand tree nicknamed Sandi. We anchored out and then went in for dinner. We went to a sushi place for dinner. After dinner it was dark out and the streets were all lit up with Christamas lights. We went and saw Sandi's show. It was really cool. There were so may different lights and things going on it was hard to know where to look. We saw the light show a few times and then went back to the boat. We could still hear the show from the boat and it started to get really annoying. The show went until 11 pm.

The street was all lit up for Christmas!!!

West Palm Beach

We went out to breakfast at a place called Field of Greens. We all got acai bowls there. Then we went to the library to get some schoolwork and blogposts done. Dad went to a bunch of stores in his friend Kevin's car. We went to lunch at Feild of Greens too. They had a great lunch menu. After that we wnt to see the giant motor yacht that Kevin works on. It was huge! There were so many breakable items everywhere! I don't understand how everything does not break when they get knocked around by waves. We went to a concert that night right near the sand tree.

West Palm Beach - Fort Lauderdale

We left West Palm Beach and headed to Fort Lauderdale. It was really busy on the ICW. Lots of powerboats were going by really fast and leaving big wakes that then would bounce back and fourth on the sea walls. There were so many big fancy mansions too. We got to Fort Lauterdale and anchored out. A little while later Kevin came and picked us up. He lives just outside of Fort Lauterdale. We went to his house and went swimming in their pool. His daughter Chandler and his wife Deb were both there too. They all thought the pool was really cold at like 70 degrees. I thought it was quite nice. We had yummy dinner and watched some Christmas movies there too. Chandler and Stan were playing in her room with her basketball hoop until like 9:00. Stan was really tired. I know I have not mentioned this yet, but we have decided that we are leaving No Name Harbor for the Bahamas on Christmas Eve.

Fort Lauterdale - No Name Harbor

We left early from Fort Lauterdale to get to No Name Harbor in Biscayne Bay (in Bill Baggs State Park) so we could make the weather window on Christmas Eve. There were so many powerboats along the ICW today. We spent a long time looking for a marina that had gas, water, and ice. So many of the marinas did not have all three. One of the marinas that we tried to stop at had a powerboat docked right in the middle of the dock, and there was not enough room for us to get on either side. We passed right through Miami and there were tall buildings and big powerboats everywhere. The water was an amazing shade of turquoise and we could see the bottom if it was under 15 feet deep. We finally found a marina that had everything we needed right before we arrived in No Name Harbor. Mom heard someone call her name when she was driving the boat into the harbor and dad was getting the anchor ready...it was people we know from Wellfleet! Nicole and Damien Parkington and family. Small world! It was getting to be pretty hot out so we jumped into the water off the boat almost immediately after we anchored. It was the first time on the trip that we were in a clean enough harbor to be able to do that. It was so awesome!!! Later we went out to eat at the Boaters Grill which is the only thing in the area since this is a state park. Mom and Dad got a whole red snapper. I have always had a white fish allergy where I get really sick if I eat white fish, but the fish looked so good. The doctor had said that I might grow out of it eventually so I decided to try a little bit. It was so good!!! I ate quite a bit actually. I eventually had to stop myself, just in case I would get sick. Right now, as I write this, my stomach is hurting...I hope I am not going to get sick. I am so exited to cross to Bimini tomorrow!!! I can't belive that this is actually happening!!! Merry Christmas!!!
