Nakey Beach! The wind was still up so we decided to hike with our friends Cameron and Jackie from Terrapin to Nakey Beach (fortunately it does not live up to it's name). We took dinghy over to Tiny's which is a great beachfront restaurant that we went to the night before. From Tiny's it is over a mile hike to Nakey beach over a sandy road and hiking through some dense woods. Nakey Beach is a beautiful protected beach that has a cinder block fire pit and grill there. We collected wood and made a fire and had a wonderful cookout. Dad flew the drone and we did a 5 Gyres beach plastic sample. We started our way back to Tiny's just as the sun was setting and the nasty bugs were coming out. Jackie and Cameron are from Alaska and call bug spray "bug dope". They told us all about Homer, Alaska and we hope to visit there someday. It sounds like a really cool place. Cameron gave us a funny sticker that he made "WWCPD?"...What Would Chris Parker Do? Long Island to Rocky Point, Great Exuma

We decided to stay out of the sound which was still very rough and sail the route less traveled along the western shore of Great Exuma. To do this we had to go through Comber Channel which is only passable for at high tide. We left mid morning, timing our passage through the channel so we went through on the rising/flood tide. We went through the channel with no problems and were happy to miss some passing squalls. Jessie played the trumpet and mom baked vegan chocolate chip cookies. We actually like vegan cookies and pancakes better than the normal ones and they do not require dairy...which requires refrigeration. Just before sunset we pulled into the anchorage at Rocky Point a small island off the western coast of Great Exuma (we could hear some of the Georgetown radio transmissions). We were greeted by a rainbow. Terrapin anchored on our port to us and a boat named Maverick dropped anchor to our starboard. Cameron and Jackie came over for dinner, we had "Swain Pasta" which is mom's secret recipe that I suspect has a lot of vegetables hidden in it. After dinner Stanley insisted that we have a dance party. He broke out the blue tooth speaker that has an attached light show. We turned off the lights and it was super fun. Stanley did most of the dancing.

Jessie entertained us with some trumpet tunes

A squall a little too close for comfort but the colors are beautiful!

Rocky Point to Little Farmers Cay (Oven Rock)

7am DOLPHIN SHOW!!!! There was a pod of 3 dolphins playing and feeding all around our anchorage for almost an hour! It was absolutely incredible. Jessie and Stanley named them; Chip, Salt, and Pepper. The dolphins took a particular liking to the little dog on Maverick- they followed their dinghy when Maverick was bringing the dog (named Lucy) to shore and you could tell the dolphins were looking at the little barking dog. We jumped in our dinghy and followed the dolphins around for a while then in a flash they were gone. We returned to the boat and for the first time in the whole trip, did not turn on the engine. We quietly and peacefully sailed off the anchor and sailed "wing and wing" with the mizzen and Genoa sails all the way to the anchorage at Oven Rock right off of Little Farmers Cay. We were excited to swim with the turtles in Little Harbor again so got right into the dinghy and headed over. The man who we swam with the turtles with before, Kimble, had moved to Nassau so a guy named Carsel cracked 3 conch and took us into the water to feed the turtles. It was again an amazing experience but we had no idea that the following day would be the BEST DAY EVER.....
